I would prefer to use the same download manager for both of them. But I would be using Safari too (for long battery life). There are download manager extensions for Chrome (like "Chrono Download Manager"). I just don't know where to find it as I'm new to Mac softwares. There must be a similar program for Mac too. "Free download manager" on Windows works fine with Chrome. Only a few download managers work well with Chrome. I have faced similar problems in Windows as well. I have tried "Progressive Downloader" already, it didn't work with Chrome.Įvery download manager I have tried so far works fine with Safari, but don't work well with Google Chrome (even after installing the appropriate plugins). Apple has discontinued Safari for Windows since 2012. Since I use Windows too, I need a browser that supports both platforms in order to keep my bookmarks, settings, extensions etc. I use Google Chrome as I'm used to it's interface and extensions. So I need a download manager with good resume capability. iGetter is a full featured download manager and accelerator. My internet connection is somewhat unstable. However, it should be noted that iGetter has been created especially for Mac users. I have a 1mbps internet connection (2mbps upto 20GB, then 1mbps). I guess you are referring to the Finder's inbuilt download manager that shows the progress of all downloads within the downloads folder. Fixed an issue that iGetterMessagingHost doesn't identify Firefox, when transferring downloads to iGetter.Thank you for your quick response.
